NHL Game Summary - Washington at Vancouver

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Henrik Sedin, Nick Bonino and Luca Sbisa scored during a 1:47 span in the second period and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Sunday night.

Ryan Miller made 20 saves and Radim Vrbata added an empty-net goal for the Canucks, who had dropped three of their last four games coming in.

"I thought we defended pretty well," Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins said. "Miller came up with some big saves for sure."

Marcus Johansson and Liam O'Brien netted goals for the Capitals, who had won four of six games coming in. Justin Peters stopped 30 shots in defeat.

"They came out strong and we were a little flat," Peters said.

After Johansson staked Washington a 1-0 lead with a wrister from the right circle 5:28 into the second period, Sedin found a loose puck in front and lifted it past Peters while on the power play at the 14:00 mark.

Bonino finished a 2-on-2 rush with a blistering wrister from inside the left circle and Sbisa's goal came just 25 seconds later when he fired a slap shot from the left point past Peters for a 3-1 Canucks edge.

O'Brien trimmed the deficit 3-2 less than two minutes later when he finished off Mike Greene's right circle feed from the slot.

Miller stopped seven shots in the third and Vrbata's empty-net tally came with 1:01 remaining.
