Ducks recall John Gibson from weekend stint in the AHL

by Thomas Drance

The Anaheim Ducks have recalled goaltender John Gibson from his two-game stint with their American Hockey League affiliate, the club announced Monday.

The 21-year-old won one of his two starts, allowing six goals against on 61 shots faced.

The Ducks explained at the time of Gibson's reassignment that they were looking to keep their prized young netminder fresh. If that continues to be a priority, then Gibson may rack up the frequent flyer miles between Norfolk International and John Wayne this season, particularly with Ducks netminder Frederik Andersen appearing to have cemented himself as Anaheim's everyday starter.
