The Minnesota Wild were without forward Thomas Vanek for a portion of Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Kings after he suffered an apparent thumb injury.

He did return to the game in the third, but told reporters afterwards that his thumb was throbbing after being hit with a shot from teammate Ryan Suter.

Vanek is without a goal through four games to begin his tenure with Minnesota.
