Veteran - and oft-injured - defenseman Sami Salo doesn't want his NHL career to end, but at 40 years old it looks like the most viable option.
Dan Murphy of Sportsnet reports:

Salo played the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning and was not offered an extension at the end of last season.
