Colorado Avalanche rookie goaltender Calvin Pickard will be called upon to make his first start Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens, according to Mike Chambers of the Denver Post.
The 22-year-old - drafted in the second round of the 2010 Draft - allowed four goals in relief of an injured Reto Berra during Thursday's game in Ottawa.
Prior to being called up, he posted a .952 save percentage in two games with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters.
