Avalanche recall Sami Aittokallio from AHL

The Colorado Avalance have recalled goalie Sami Aittokallio from the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters, the club announced Friday.

The move was made after both Semyon Varlamov and Reto Berra were injured on Thursday. Calvin Pickard was recalled from the Monsters and was forced into action during a 5-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

A fourth-round pick of the Avalanche in 2010, Aittokallio has two career NHL appearances on his resume, stopping 38 of 43 shots for a save percentage of .884.

Forward Dennis Everberg was sent down to make room on the roster.
