Report: Blackhawks' Leighton, Regin placed on waivers

The Chicago Blackhawks placed goaltender Michael Leighton and forward Peter Regin on the waiver wire Saturday, according to Bob McKenzie of TSN.

Regin was acquired from the New York Islanders last season, recording four points in 17 games, and four shots on goal in five playoff games.

Leighton was signed as a free agent this past offseason, but failed to push Antti Raanta out of the backup position behind Corey Crawford.
