Red Wings' Nyquist returns to preseason action after knee injury scare
Rick Osentoski / USA Today
Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist will be back in the lineup for Detroit's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, according to the team's official game notes.
It's welcome news for head coach Mike Babcock, after it was feared Nyquist had suffered a knee injury on a collision in Saturday's tilt against the Boston Bruins.
Nyquist scored 28 goals in 57 games for the Red Wings last season, and will look to build off that success by making a meaningful contribution to Detroit's offensive attack in 2014-15.
