The New York Rangers announced forward Derek Stepan suffered a fractured fibula during an on-ice conditioning drill Wednesday.
Stepan was reportedly injured in a non-contact drill, and was both "audibly and visibly" in pain as he was helped off the ice.
The team is expected to offer an update on his condition later this afternoon. For now head coach Alain Vigneault is optimistic that Stepan won't miss more than a month and a half of action:

Stepan played in all 82 games last season, totaling 57 points.
