New Vancouver Canuck Luca Sbisa fell in love with the city when he competed with Team Switzerland at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. A trade to the Canucks made Sbisa very happy, and he's been taking in as much of British Columbia as he can since.
Sbisa told Canucks TV about an eventful round of golf with teammate Ryan Stanton in Whistler. A hole after telling each other they wouldn't know what to do if they came face-to-face with a bear, they were greeted by the real thing.
"(It was) the first time I've seen a bear that wasn't in a zoo," Sbisa said.
"The boys were pretty scared. Everyone had their 3-irons out, ready to attack," Stanton laughed.
They waited the bear out, so they didn't have to resort to their improvised weapons.
