NHL Deputy commissioner Bill Daly and Philadelphia Flyers president Paul Holmgren were announced as co-recipients of the Lester Patrick Trophy on Tuesday for their contributions to hockey in the United States.
The pair will be honored Dec. 4 when the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inducts its 2014 class.
Daly has helped facilitate the NHL's relationship with USA Hockey and the NCAA since becoming commissioner Gary Bettman's No. 2 in 2005.
Holmgren was a former player, coach and general manager with the Flyers before being promoted to president this summer. He has both competed and coached at the international level with USA Hockey.
