For the first time in four seasons the Columbus Blue Jackets sold 10,000 season-ticket equivalents according to Larry Hoepfner, VP of business operations.
"The All-Star Game helps, of course,” Hoepfner told The Columbus Dispatch. “But I think it’s 90-10 [percent of] people just wanting to be at our games, and that All-Star weekend is an added bonus."
Just two years ago the team recorded a franchise low in ticket sales. The last time they hit 10,000 season-ticket equivalent sales, they were coming off their first playoff appearance in franchise history. Their playoff appearance last season may have something to do with the ticket bump.
