Report: Hurricanes sign Chad LaRose to minor league contract

What's old is new again in Carolina, with the Carolina Hurricanes signing a familiar face to a minor league contract on Tuesday:

A consistent and effective third-line forward for much of his career, LaRose managed just four points in 35 games during the lockout abbreviated 2013 season and was out of the league last year. He'll likely get a look at Hurricanes training camp this fall, but obviously will need to unseat another player to earn a full-time job.

Presumably he'll get every opportunity to do so, as the Hurricanes only have nine forwards currently signed to one-way contracts per capgeek.com.
