Former Winnipeg Jets forward and current city councillor Thomas Steen was arrested July 11 and spent the night in jail for "breaking conditions of an undertaking," per the Winnipeg Sun.

In June, Steen was ordered to cease communication with a woman he was accused of assaulting and was prohibited from consuming alcohol or any other drugs.

Steen retired from NHL hockey after 14 seasons with the Jets before joining the municipality.

The case had been remanded until Aug. 18.
