The 22-year-old was acquired by the Canucks at the NHL Draft back in June, in exchange for the 50th overall pick.
In 18 games with the Los Angeles Kings in 2013-14, his first taste of NHL action, Vey recorded five assists.
Vey was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (96th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
