With no trade in sight to end the impasse between the Toronto Maple Leafs and goaltender James Reimer, Reimer has filed for salary arbitration.
Reimer posted his highest career goals-against average (3.29) last season, winning just 12 games in 36 appearances despite recording a good even-strength save percentage (.922). He also guided Toronto to a postseason berth in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, so an arbitration decision - should contract negotiations reach that stage - could vary wildly depending on which stats are deemed more representative of his skill set.
