The Chicago Blackhawks signed 23-year-old, 6-foot-3 forward Dennis Rasmussen of the Vaxjo Lakers to a one-year, entry-level contract worth $793,000 at the NHL level, according to TVA's Renaud Lavoie.
The team announced the deal Tuesday afternoon.
Rasmussen enjoyed a breakout SHL campaign in 2013-14, managing 16 goals and 40 points in 52 games and finishing in the top-10 in SHL scoring. While there are some concerns about Rasmussen's foot speed, his production, big frame, and relative youth make him an intriguing, low-risk gamble for Chicago.
The big Swedish forward was linked to the Phildelphia Flyers and the Vancouver Canucks earlier in the offseason. The Swedish invasion continues!
