Canadiens' Galchenyuk cleared for contact ahead of Eastern Conference Final
The Montreal Canadiens, fresh off of an upset victory over the Boston Bruins in the quarterfinal round, appear to be close to checking in some additional and very skilled reinforcements for the Eastern Conference Final.
Talented sophomore forward Alex Galchenyuk, who has been skating this week as he rehabs from a knee injury sustained in early April, took to the ice on Friday wearing a regular practice jersey - which would indicate that he's been cleared for contact.
It would still seem unlikely that Galchenyuk can return to the lineup for Game 1, but if he's participating in contact drills in practice then a return to the lineup is imminent. The skilled 19-year-old forward managed 13 goals and 31 points in 65 games this season.
