Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason made his first start of the Stanley Cup playoffs for Game 5 against the New York Rangers Friday night, and his return was impactful right off the bat.

Though the Rangers steadily controlled the flow of play in Game 5, they were only able to solve Mason once in the opening 40 minutes. The Flyers goaltender made 27 saves through the first two periods, as he was beseiged constantly. This paddle save on Rangers defender Ryan McDonagh was probably Mason's best work:

The Flyers hold a 2-1 lead after two periods, although the Rangers have been the better team. Can Mason and the Flyers hold on to even the series?
