Devils pull Brodeur after three-goal second period

Ed Mulholland / USA TODAY Sports

New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur was pulled from Monday night's game between the Florida Panthers and the Devils after allowing three goals on nine shots.

Brodeur was fine in a first period that the Devils completely dominated, stopping all four shots he faced. It was a different story in the second, however, as Brodeur allowed three goals, on five shots, in less than six minutes (by the game clock).

The surefire first ballot Hall of Famer is struggling this season. Among goaltenders who have logged at least 1,000 minutes at five-on-five this season, no goalie has stopped a lower percentage of even-strength shots faced.
