Reto Berra to earn $1.45 million per season on 3-year deal with Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche will pay newly-acquired goaltender Reto Berra $1.45 million per season to serve as Semyon Varlamov's back-up for the next three years.
Quick to lock up an asset at a modest price, the Avalanche have yet to feature the Swiss-born goaltender between their pipes, but thought enough of the work he did in Calgary to invest a second-round pick and now three years of salary.
In 29 appearances for the Flames in his first North American campaign, Berra managed just nine wins and a sub.-900 save percentage while allowing nearly three goals per game.
