Nathan Horton buys 1,000 tickets for Columbus police officers, firefighters and EMT's

Nathan Horton is definitely making a fine impression in his first year as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The 28-year old, who signed a seven-year, $37.7 million contract with the team this past summer, went above ane beyond in regards to his good deed of the day in advance of Thursday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

The gesture holds extra significance for Horton as his father is a also a police officer.

Horton has scored four goals and added 11 assists in 25 games for the Blue Jackets this season, and is making a positive impact with the team both on and off the ice.
