Brad Marchand credits emotion displayed in Vancouver for helping turn season around

Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand was widely criticized for mocking the Vancouver Canucks and their fans in a loss back on Dec. 14, but the 25-year old credits that night as marking a turning point in his season.

Since that game, Marchand has scored 12 of his 17 goals this season, adding seven assists. While he admits to regretting his actions, he acknowledges that he became more emotionally invested as a result.

"It's a learning experience," Marchand told Dan Cagen of Metro West Daily. "Everything you do is a learning experience. You try to take the positives out of it. I know not to do that again. It was a little disrespectful, but at the point in time emotions were running high. I try and stay away from it, but just try to be a little nicer."

He added, "I felt like I was more involved, my head was into games more. My emotions were there a little bit more. When I do that, I feel better."

Despite his recent success, Marchand has been held pointless in his last three games, but may be saving something up for Vancouver's visit to Boston on Tuesday.
