With his assist on Marek Zidlicky's overtime winner Saturday night, Jaromir Jagr passed his former running mate, Mario Lemieux, for sole possession of seventh on the NHL's all-time points list.
Although that's quite an accomplishment in itself, and one that should have come sooner (had he not taken a three-year NHL hiatus), Jagr has his eyes on overtaking the greatest ever.
Although his comments were obviously made in jest, Jagr does have a chance to ascend the NHL's most prolific list; he vowed before the season that 2013-14 wouldn't be his last.
Jagr needs 32 points to overtake Steve Yzerman for sixth, and is just 164 points from ascending all the way to second place all time - a position currently occupied by Mark Messier.
