Kadri on Crosby's 24/7 comments: 'I maybe got inside his kitchen a little bit'
During a particularly memorable moment of the second episode of this season's version of HBO's 24/7: Road To The Winter Classic, Sidney Crosby is heard offering some choice words in regards to Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri.
In an exchange with Toronto captain Dion Phaneuf, Crosby said Kadri was an “[expletive] dummy” and an “[expletive] joke.”
The footage can be seen at the end of this uncensored clip. Warning: some language may offend.
When asked about Crosby's comments after the initial airing of the episode, Kadri, reportedly with a smile, said “I heard about that, actually," adding part of his role on the ice is to make it tough for players of that ilk.
I think I maybe got inside his kitchen a little bit. But that’s part of my game. He’s the best player in the world. You’ve got to be hard on him. I expect everyone to do that, not just myself. (via Sean Fitz-Gerald, National Post)
Kadri added “I think he lost a little respect for me. But I don’t know, what are you going to do?”
In another twist, Kadri confessed he was asked by HBO to wear a microphone during that particular game in Pittsburgh, but declined: "Thank god I did, because I was a mouthpiece."
Oh, what could have been.
