Oilers trade F Linus Omark to Sabres for conditional pick
The Edmonton Oilers and the Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a minor trade on Thursday night. The deal will send shootout artist and minor league forward Linus Omark to Buffalo in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick at the 2014 NHL entry draft.
Omark is a skilled forward, he has been a roughly point-per-game player in the AHL over the past three seasons and led the NLA in scoring last season. Omark decided to play in Switzerland last year rather than remain with the Oilers - a team with whom he had an often fractious relationship.
Omark wasn't going to get a shot in Edmonton, but he could help jump start the Buffalo Sabres' historically inept offense.
