VIDEO: John Albert scores goal in NHL debut
John Albert took a long road to his NHL debut. He didn't waste much time getting on the scoreboard once he arrived.
Albert was recalled from the AHL to replace injured Jets forward Evander Kane for Monday's game against the Rangers. The 24-year-old rookie from Cleveland took a lead pass from defenseman Dustin Byfuglien and fired a quick wrist shot past New York netminder Cam Talbot midway through the second period.
Albert has 15 career goals in 111 career AHL games after spending four seasons in the NCAA at Ohio State. He was selected by Winnipeg in the sixth round of the 2007 entry draft.
