Red Wings place F Jordin Tootoo on waivers
Veteran Detroit Red Wings grinder Jordin Tootoo has been placed on waivers on Wednesday.

Tootoo has been by far the most sparingly used Red Wings forward this season, and has this season and next remaining on his current contract. Tootoo's cap-hit is $1.9 million, so he'll still occupy $975,000 of Detroit's cap-space should he clear waivers and be re-assigned to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
