Kings' Perry undergoes knee surgery, out 6-8 weeks after training injury

Los Angeles Kings forward Corey Perry underwent successful knee surgery and will miss six-to-eight weeks, the team announced Saturday.

Perry was injured during a training skate Friday.

The Kings signed Perry to a bonus-laden one-year contract July 1. Perry has a $2-million base salary and can earn up to $4 million total through performance bonuses.

Perry tallied 19 goals and 30 points in 81 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers. The 40-year-old added 10 goals and 14 points in 22 playoff contests.
