The San Jose Sharks signed forward William Eklund to a three-year contract extension with a $5.6-million cap hit, the team announced Tuesday.
Eklund totaled 17 goals and 58 points in 77 games last season. Both were career highs.
The 22-year-old has one season left on his entry-level contract, and he will be a restricted free agent when his new deal expires.
Eklund has compiled 35 goals and 110 points in 174 career games over parts of four seasons in San Jose. He was drafted seventh overall by the Sharks in 2021.
