The 20-year-old was the Rookie of the Year in the Swedish league last year, collecting 19 goals and 31 points in 46 contests. He also was named the MVP at the world juniors in January with seven goals and 10 points en route to winning silver with Sweden.
Lekkerimaki practiced on the top line with J.T. Miller and Pius Suter on Sunday, according to Sportsnet's Brendan Batchelor.
The Canucks drafted Lekkerimaki 15th overall in 2022. He ranked 29th on theScore's top 50 NHL-affiliated prospects before the season began.
