Jets, Perfetti agree to 2-year contract with $3.25M AAV
The Winnipeg Jets signed restricted free-agent forward Cole Perfetti to a two-year contract with a $3.25-million cap hit, the team announced Monday.
Perfetti, 22, tallied 19 goals and 38 points in 71 games last season. His only playoff appearance came in Game 5 against the Colorado Avalanche after he was a healthy scratch for the first four contests of the series.
Perfetti represented the Jets at the NHL/NHLPA player media tour in Las Vegas earlier in September, even though he was unsigned at the time. He said he will have a "clean slate" under new head coach Scott Arniel after a difficult conclusion to last season at the event.
Perfetti started the campaign with 14 goals and 29 points in his first 40 games but then endured a 23-game goal drought, during which he only added two assists.
The Whitby, Ontario native was drafted 10th overall by the Jets in 2020. He has 29 goals and 75 points in 140 career games.
Winnipeg has $2.5 million of cap space after signing Perfetti, according to PuckPedia.
