The Washington Capitals signed forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel to a one-year extension, the team announced Friday.
Aube-Kubel was a pending unrestricted free agent. The extension includes a $1-million salary and a $225,000 signing bonus, according to CapFriendly.
Washington claimed Aube-Kubel off of waivers in October from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The physical winger has two goals and eight points in 30 contests with the Capitals. He has a $1-million cap hit this campaign.
Aube-Kubel tallied a career-high 11 goals and 22 points in 67 games last season with the Colorado Avalanche. He didn't record a point in 14 playoff contests en route to the Avalanche's Stanley Cup victory.
