The Tampa Bay Lightning signed restricted free-agent defenseman Slater Koekkoek to a one-year deal Monday that will see him earn $800,000 in 2017-18.
Koekkoek has made 41 NHL appearances since being drafted 10th overall by Tampa Bay in 2012.
He's registered 12 goals and 42 assists in 180 AHL games, and will be expected to make a full-time leap to the big club on this one-way contract.
Last season, Koekkoek recorded four assists in 29 games for the Lightning.
