Sharks sign Jones, Vlasic to long-term extensions

The San Jose Sharks locked up two key members of their core.
Goaltender Martin Jones agreed to a six-year extension, and defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic inked a new eight-year deal.
Jones' contract is worth $34.5 million, while Vlasic's new pact will pay him $56 million, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
Both players have one more season left on their deals. Jones will carry a cap hit of $3 million in 2017-18, and Vlasic's hit will be $4.25 million.
Jones went 35-23-6 with a 2.40 GAA and a .912 save percentage while appearing in 65 games for the Sharks this past season.
Vlasic is a key member of San Jose's top four on the back end. Only Brent Burns logged more average ice time than his 21:14 in the regular season for the Sharks.
