Capitals' Philipp Grubauer: Capping off regular-season road starts
Grubauer will work between the pipes Saturday as the road starter versus the Bruins, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis:
The Capitals will have their backup tender punch in for work Saturday, before handing the reins to Braden Holtby for the latter half of the back-to-back set to end the regular season against the visiting Panthers. Grubauer is much more valuable than your ordinary backup since he plays for a team that ended up with the Presidents' Trophy for the second straight year. His resume for this season includes a 12-6-2 record, 2.07 GAA and .926 save percentage over 22 games.
