Red Wings' Jared Coreau: Sent down to minors

Coreau was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday.

With Jimmy Howard (knee) still on the mend and not ready for game action, per Ansar Khan of MLive.com, Coreau is simply making the trip down to the minors to get in some conditioning while the Red Wings are on bye this week. In all likelihood, the 25-year-old keeper will be back with the big club when it resumes play Feb. 28 in Vancouver.
