Blue Jackets' Dalton Prout: Sent to minors for conditioning

Prout (back) was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday for a conditioning assignment.

Analysis:

This should be an encouraging step in the process for Prout, as he'll likely get a chance to suit up in a minor league game so he can test out his back in live action. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since Nov. 12, missing 11 contests in the process. In limited action this season, the blueliner has failed to secure a point, adding a mere eight PIM, three shots on goals and 18 hits. Given his lack of offensive production, Prout doesn't warrant a spot in most fantasy lineups.
