He skated well Friday but had nothing to show for his efforts, foreshadowing Saturday's outbreak. All three helpers against the Devils came at even strength, though Malkin led Pittsburgh in power-play time (5:54). He won 10 of 17 faceoffs and stayed out of the penalty box for just the second time in the last eight games.
