Sabres' Anders Nilsson: Will get starting nod Thursday

by Rotowire

Nilsson will start in goal Thursday night, fielding shots from the Wild on home ice, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

Analysis:

Nilsson performed admirably in his debut with the Sabres on Tuesday, allowing three goals on a heavy 41 shots through a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers. He's getting the starting nod once again with No. 1 backstop Robin Lehner dealing with an illness, which caused him to miss Tuesday's contest and Thursday's practice. One note of caution: Minnesota's confidence should quite high after shutting out Boston on the road with a five-goal performance just two days ago.
