Canadiens' Alexei Emelin: Ahead of last season's scoring pace
Emelin scored the first goal of the game in Montreal's 5-2 win over Arizona on Thursday. He also had a team-high five hits in 17:21 of ice time.
Analysis:
We've become accustomed to Emelin doling out the punishment, but providing offense is rare. The Russian defenseman, who didn't score at all last season, unloaded a slap shot from the left faceoff circle to register his first goal since March 17, 2015.
