Panthers' Huberdeau to undergo MRI after taking skate to leg

The Florida Panthers will be holding their breath in hopes that an apparent leg and/or ankle injury to Jonathan Huberdeau isn't serious.
The Panthers forward left Saturday's preseason contest against the New Jersey Devils and didn't return after taking a skate to the back of his left ankle. The injury took place during a first-period battle behind the Devils' net with Sergey Kalinin.
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the extent of Huberdeau's injury won't be known until he undergoes an MRI, which is scheduled for Sunday.
A long-term injury would be devastating for the Panthers, who earlier this week learned forward Nick Bjugstad will miss approximately four weeks with a broken hand.
