The Nashville Predators have inked second-round draft pick Samuel Girard to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.
The talented offensive defenseman racked up more than a point per game throughout the regular season and playoffs last year with Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
It's expected that Girard, who was selected 47th overall in June, will return to Major Junior before graduating to the professional ranks in 2017-18.
