Kings' Jeff Carter: Ready for training camp

Carter (upper body) has resumed skating and should be back to 100 percent for the start of training camp, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

An extended absence for Carter would certainly have been a setback to the franchise and fantasy owners alike after back-to-back 62-point seasons. The center contributes in all aspects of the game and plays in all situations; at 31, he's yet to show any signs of slowing down and will likely be snagged in the early stages of most drafts, regardless of format.
