The 39-year-old Cullen helped the Penguins win the Stanley Cup last season.
Cullen, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, had 16 goals and 16 assists in 82 games last season. He added four goals and two assists in 24 playoff games, including two game-winners.
Cullen has 235 goals and 423 assists in 1,294 regular-season games with Anaheim, Florida, Carolina, the New York Rangers, Ottawa, Minnesota, Nashville and Pittsburgh.
