Carrick was acquired this past season by the Maple Leafs - along with Brooks Laich - in a trade that sent forward Daniel Winnik to the Washington Capitals.
He put up four points in 16 games with the Maple Leafs, but proved his offensive abilities during the Calder Trophy playoffs when he led the league with 18 points in 15 games with the Toronto Marlies, despite being eliminated in the conference finals.
