Flyers' Nick Cousins: On track to become restricted free agent
Cousins has received a qualifying offer from the Flyers, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis:
Cousins split the 2015-16 campaign between the Flyers and minor-league affiliate Lehigh Valley of the AHL. He was quite efficient in 36 games with the parent club, lighting the lamp six times to go along with four apples, despite only averaging 10:44 of ice time per contest. Additionally, the 22-year-old sampled the power play. Cousins should be ready to assume a full-time gig in the upcoming season with a new contract likely in the works for the pending restricted free agent. Brayden Schenn, Brandon Manning, Petr Straka and Jordan Weal also received qualifying offers by Philadelphia.
