Oilers' Benoit Pouliot: May be on trade market over summer

Patrick Maroon's success after coming over to Edmonton means the Oilers may be willing to part with Pouliot via trade this offseason, the Edmonton Journal reports.

Analysis:

Although Pouliot's 2015-16 campaign ended early due to a shoulder injury, there's been no indication that the issue should bother him heading into next year. However, the sweater he'll be wearing is an open question, as Maroon played well on Connor McDavid's left wing (Pouliot's pre-injury role) and the Oilers can't be happy that the Maroon has failed to reach 60 games in each of his first two seasons with them since inking a five-year, $20 million deal. For fantasy purposes, Edmonton is probably one of the best places for Pouliot, as he'd be a bottom-six winger on a lot of other teams.
