  • Cam Newton opens as the top-ranked QB after finishing as the No. 1 fantasy player overall in 2015. The MVP accounted for 45 combined touchdowns last season without his best receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, who will be returning from injury. It's going to be tough for anyone to overtake "Superman," but there are plenty who will try.
  • Owners shouldn't forget just how prolific Andrew Luck was prior to last year's injury-shortened campaign. In 2014, the Colts star led the league with 40 touchdown passes, while coming in third with 4,761 yards. In 2015, Luck wasn't himself as he attempted to play through injuries, but he'll be at full health come Week 1. In a pass-heavy offense that features a talented trio of young receivers, Luck will quickly re-establish himself as a dominant fantasy weapon.
  • Prior to the Martavis Bryant suspension, Ben Roethlisberger would have been ranked as a top five quarterback. Big Ben is still a quality fantasy starter, but the Steelers' passing game isn't nearly as dangerous with Bryant on the sidelines.
  • With Martellus Bennett joining the Patriots' offense, Tom Brady is set up for another big year. However, reports have circulated that the team is worried he may lose his "Deflategate" appeal and be forced to serve his original four-game suspension. If that happens, Brady could be an excellent value for the second straight year.
  • Tony Romo will get a warm welcome back after missing most of the 2015 season due to injury. The Cowboys passer seems consistently underrated as a fantasy asset, and that will likely be the case again coming off a lost year. Prior to 2015, Romo averaged 31 passing touchdowns per season over the previous four campaigns. A return to the top 10 is coming.
  • Players who may surprise this season: Tyrod Taylor (had plenty of QB1 weeks in 2015; could take the next step thanks to his running ability and Sammy Watkins), Derek Carr (surrounded by quality weapons; offensive line received major upgrade), Jameis Winston (showed he belonged during rookie season; rushing TDs boost value), Ryan Tannehill (Adam Gase gets most from QBs; DeVante Parker could be difference-maker).
