Joe Webb is returning to the Carolina Panthers on a two-year deal signed to keep him from becoming a free agent, his agency announced Monday.

Webb has served as a jack-of-all trades since first joining the Panthers in 2014, holding a role as a backup quarterback, receiver, and special teams contributor.

The 29-year-old spent the first four years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, where he started in three regular-season games at quarterback.
